The Department offers courses in Arabic as second language to B.A., B.Sc and B.Com students. The Department has a rare distinction of offering Bachelors degree courses in the Classical literature of Arabic. The Department has a library with two thousand books and the thrust area of research is study of manuscripts. The teachers of the Department are engaged in research in the areas of translation and women's studies as well.
